TUBIGON. - The much awaited world class sea transport to meet the demand of a discriminating market finally reached this port to connect Cebu and Bohol with the maiden voyage of FastCat, a roll-on-roll-off catamaran ferry which can carry 275 passengers in well appointed air-conditioned accommodation.
Owned and operated by Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corp., the vessel’s car deck can hold up to 34 cars and 7 trucks and buses while its accommodation for passengers has a Business Class (P300), Premium Economy (P270) and Economy (240). The brand new Australian made vessel even has an elevator for people with disabilities.
Christopher and Mary Ann Pastrana, vessel owners personally presented the vessel to the Boholanos during a formal launching program attended by Tubigon Mayor William Jao.
The Pastranas assured the Boholano riding public of a very efficient and safe travel with its state of the art vessel navigation and communications system on board. The engine room is equipped with four internationally-classed and ABS certified Yanmar engines, The 704 gross tonnage vessel which is of catamaran type has become the best design for ferries because of the speed, stability and large capacity are valuable.
The vessel maintains four trips daily for an hour and a half trip (Cebu-Tubigon , vice versa).
FastCat leaves Tubigon to Cebu at 5:00am, 10:30am,5:30pm and 10:30pm while it departs Cebu at 1:30am, 7:30am, 1:30pm and 8:00pm.
The world class vessel can surely pass the standard of foreign tourists who have been clamoring for a clean and efficient vessel to ferry them to this island destination, according to Christine Guevarra, VP marketing.
Meanwhile, its freight rates vary for sedan Sedan, SUV, AUV at P2,905; Bus, P3,880; Motorcycle, P700; Tricycle, P800; Bicycle, P150.
