There are no holiday breaks in the police’s crackdown on illegal drug activities in Bohol.
Policemen of the Clarin police on Christmas Day, Tuesday, arrested high-value target Vinci Cosare, a former policeman.
Cosare, a resident of Barangay Bonbon, Clarin, was nabbed by operatives led by Insp. Fernando Peroramas, chief of the Clarin Police Station, through a buy-bust operation.
Cosare allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover policeman.
According to Peroramas, Cosare was a police officer 1 who was last assigned in Camp Dagohoy in 2013.
The suspect as a member of “Man-Man Kalsada†was frequently dispatched to help man police checkpoints set up across the province, Peroramas said.
Cosare allegedly started to use drugs even as a policeman prior to his dismissal due to having gone AWOL (absent without official leave).
Peroramas added that Cosare was subjected to Oplan Tokhang but did not surrender and end his involvement in illegal drug activities.
Cosare is currently detained at the Clarin lock-up jail pending the filing of charges against him.
In Baclayon, a drug suspect identified as Leonardo Galbo, a resident of San Isidro, Baclayon, was arrested in a raid conducted on Saturday.
Galbo reportedly yielded 13 packets of shabu weighing 2.6 grams and estimated to be worth P6,500.
He was arrested by anti-narcotics policemen led by Senior Insp. Jesus Daplin through a search warrant issued by Judge Jennifer Marcos of the Regional Trial Court Branch 2. (Allen Doydora)
