A husband and wife were allegedly caught by police in possession of shabu estimated to be worth P132,000 in Barangay Cruz, Buenavista on Friday.

Policemen of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and the Buenavista Police Station arrested Renato, 42, and Marilou, 40, Ocangas in a buy-bust operation at 5 p.m.

The joint operatives led by P/Chief Insp. Rolando Antipolo of the PIB seized from the suspects 12 grams of suspected shabu at their home in Sitio Canhangdol in said village.

The illegal drugs were reportedly contained in two large packs, one medium pack and eight packets while a magazine of a .45 caliber was also recovered from the suspects.

Police said that shabu worth P500 was also confiscated through the transaction between the suspects and the poseur-buyer.

According to Antipolo, Renato surrendered under Oplan Tokhang to police in Talibon on July 11 but continued to engage in illegal drug activities after.

He said that the couple is currently detained pending of filing of drug charges against them. (Rey Tutas and Weli Maestrado)
