The provincial government on Friday expressed gratitude for the Duterte administration’s support for Bohol’s progress after several Cabinet members visited the province at the start of 2017.
Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II during the “Kita ug ang Gobernador†program thanked Pres. Rodrigo Duterte for supporting big-ticket projects that are expected to bolster Bohol’s growth.
In the previous week, Socioeconomic Planning Sec. Ernesto Pernia, Cabinet Sec. Leoncio Evasco,Jr., Health Sec. Paulyn Rossel-Ubial and Interior Undersecretary John Castriones visited Bohol to inspect and launch various projects.
Pernia, who is also the director general of the National Economic Development Authority, inspected the New Bohol Airport and the Tagbilaran City site for the planned third bridge which will connect the city to Panglao.
The Boholano secretary also visited the site for the new Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) in Malayo Norte, Cortes.
On Thursday, Evasco, Rossel-Ubial and Castriones joined the groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the new six-story building of the GCGMH in Tagbilaran City which was allotted a fund of P555 million by the national government.
During the event, Evasco, who had also been appointed chief of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council, reiterated his support for his home province of Bohol.
“There are two key Boholano Cabinet members in the Duterte administration—me and and Dr. Ernie Perniaâ€, he said. “I will strive to be of help in Bohol’s developmentâ€. (Rey Tutas)
