After nine Negosyo Centers were opened in Bohol in 2016, the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) are planning to establish more of the said facilities in the province.
According Boholano DTI-7 director Asteria Caberte, up to seven more Negosyo Centers will be opened in Bohol this year.
The project is intended to address poverty and push the establishment of more micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) in the province which will generate employment and boost productivity.
Caberte explained that Negosyo Centers provide support in the registration of businesses and renewal of MSME permits, and assist Barangay Micro-Business Enterprise registrants.
In line with project, Caberte urged Tagbilaran Mayor Baba Yap to allocate lots for the centers and a business databank in the city.
These facilities will serve as storage for data and training for financing, marketing and other business matters needed by MSME proprietors, Caberte added.
Currently, there are two Go Negosyo centers in Tagbilaran City. One is located at the second floor of the First Consolidated Bank building along CPG North Ave. and the other in the Bohol Promotions Center at the Capitol.
Other centers are in Loon, Ubay, Talibon, Carmen, Tubigon, Jagna and Loboc. (Rey Tutas)
