All mayors in Bohol have been invited by President Rodrigo Duterte to be in Malacañang on Wednesday.
Bohol League of Municipalities president Clarin Mayor Allen Piezas confirmed this on Tuesday noting that they were told to join a meeting at the Palace.
Piezas said that all local chief executives in the country have been invited by Duterte as well but the meeting’s agenda remained undisclosed.
According to Regina Bastes, Department of the Interior and Local Government-Bohol administrative officer, the gathering has been called through a memorandum circular issued on Monday by the office of DILG Undersecretary Austere Panadero.
Bastes said that the meeting for mayors in Visayas and Mindanao including the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will be at 2 p.m.
Mayors in Luzon will gather at 3:30 p.m. also in Malacañang.
The mayors are not allowed to send proxies in their stead while they were told to be in business attires.
However, Mayors Jacinto Naraga of San Isidro, Natividad Gonzaga of Danao and Roygie Jumamoy of Inabanga will not be able to attend.
Naraga said that he will be joining the wedding of his son tomorrow while Jumamoy is out of the country.
Gonzaga has not yet issued a reason for missing the meeting but Bastes speculated that the mayor may not be able to attend due to health concerns.
Around 1,400 mayors from across the country with more than a hundred from Central Visayas are expected to be in Malacañang tomorrow.

Although unconfirmed, several sources have speculated that the meeting is intended to identify local chief executives who are involved in illegal drug activities.
The meeting was called after Duterte on Monday urged mayors included in his narco list to resign or else he would confront them and kill them. (Rey Tutas)
