Two of three crewmen of a pumpboat were found a day after they went missing as their boat sank between Siquijor and Balicasag Island on Monday afternoon.
Verjel Claraval, 17, and Shino Dadios, 28, were found in separate areas on Tuesday afternoon, said authorities.
According to the Panglao Coast Guard, Claraval’s mother at 4 p.m. notified them that her son was found in Sinipay Island, Zamboanga Del Norte.
She said that Claraval contacted her through a cellphone to inform her of his whereabouts.
Meanwhile, Dadios was found in Barangay Tongo, Siquijor.
According to PO3 Julifer Al-os of the Siquijor Police Station, Dadios was spotted by residents in the said village who also took him to the hospital.
Dadios’ mouth was severely swollen as it was hit by a piece of the boat when it was being rocked by strong winds and current.
In a brief statement, Dadios noted that he and nephew Orly Dadios, 19, were swimming together towards the village but were separated when both were already severely fatigued.
Authorities still have not identified the whereabouts of Orly.
On Monday afternoon, the three crewmen set out to transport guests bound for Siquijor amid heavy rains throughout Bohol and the region.
Their boat was sunk by strong current and winds as they were headed back to Bohol at around 2 p.m. (Allen Doydora)
