Pres Rodrigo R. Duterte who was introduced by DILG Sec Mike Sueno as “Pres Mayor Duterte” asked the country’s 81 governors who trooped to Malacanang in full force yesterday to fully support the country’s war against illegal drugs.

This was bared by Gov Edgar M. Chatto, Sec Gen of the League of Provinces who joined the members of the League led by their President, Gov Ryan Singson of Ilocos Sur.

Pres Duterte said he did not imagine the extent of the drug problem until he became President and had access to all sources of information.

Pres Duterte asked the governors to get hold of the records from the list per region of public & private personalities who are involved in the drug problem.

Duterte gave for the first time a copy of the thick list of drug personalities to DILG Sec Sueno for appropriate action by the Peace & Order Councils under the DILG.

The President asked help from the Governors using their authority over local officials & the people in general in eradicating this menace during his term of office.

He likewise said that after the elections, he will help all provinces  with equal treatment as he wants to support local goverments.

Pres Duterte repeatedly said he is just like the governors who are local officials.

Finally, he openly expressed his determination to lead the country towards Federalism. He is not particular about the type, model or a mixture of many schools of thought as long as it will lead to the resolution of problems like what they have in Mindanao.

The governors are one in supporting the President’s call for collective action in the war against drug abuse, Gov Chatto bared after the Malacanang meeting.
