A man believed to have been swept by floods last week was found dead in the Wahing Creek, Barangay Poblacion, Sierra Bullones at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Sierra Bullones police chief Senior Insp. Geronimo Conarco identified the victim as Diosdado Cafe, a 50-year-old resident of Barangay Salvador of said town.
According to Conarco, the victim was last seen alive near the said creek on January 19 amid heavy flooding in the vicinity.
Authorities speculated that Cafe attempted to cross the creek which was swollen by rains but was flushed by the strong current.
Doctors did not find indications of foul play in the death of Cafe and noted that the abrasions in the victim’s knees were caused by impact with rocks.
Cafe is the third fatality among six missing persons reported in Bohol when heavy rains caused floods and inundated several parts of the province last week.
Roy Andales, 4, and Jomel Orivillo, 14, were found dead last week after being swept by currents in flooded areas and going missing for several days in Trinidad.
Orly Dadios, 19, remains missing after the pumpboat he was on sank in waters between Bohol and Siquijor on Monday last week due to strong winds and currents.
His companions, Chino Dadios and Vergel Claraval, were found alive a day after they went missing. (Allen Doydora)
