National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents arrested a tourist van driver and tricycle driver who are both in the agency’s drug watchlist in separate anti-drug operations on Thursday evening.
The suspects, identified as Quirico Castilleon, 45, and Emeterio Bautista, 41, were arrested in drug buy-bust operations in Tagbilaran City.
According to the NBI operatives’ team leader, Atty. Arcelito Albao, Castilleon who is a tourist van driver was caught selling shabu outside the Integrated Bus Terminal in Barangay Dampas at 8:00 p.m.
Castilleon allegedly sold a pack of shabu to an undercover agent during the sting operation and was caught in possession of other packets of shabu estimated to be worth P7,000.
Also arrested during the operation was one Noel Paredes, 25, who was with Castilleon during the drug-buy bust.
Prior to Castilleon’s arrest, the NBI team nabbed Bautista outside the Central Public Market after also conducting a drug transaction with a poseur-buyer.
The suspect allegedly sold shabu worth P1,000 to NBI’s poseur-buyer and was caught in possession of another pack of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
Bautista, a drug surrenderee under Oplan Tokhang, has long been included in the NBI’s drug watchlist and monitored by the agency’s personnel, said Albao.
Both suspects will be facing charges for possession and sale of illegal drugs, added Albao. (Weli Maetsrado)
