Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Sec. Mike Sueno on Wednesday lauded the provincial government for its peace and order initiatives and anti-drug campaign.
Sueno, during a breakfast meeting at the People’s Mansion in Tagbilaran City, asked for the blueprint of some of Bohol’s programs which, according to the secretary, he would impart to other areas in the country.
The Cabinet official particularly acknowledged Bohol’s barangay-based drug-clearing operations, Center for Drug Education and Counseling (CEDEC) and community-based drug rehabilitation program.
During the meeting, Gov. Edgar Chatto also presented to Sueno other initiatives being implemented by the province such as the TARSIER 117 and Countrywide Development Program Purok Power Movement.
The initiatives were presented by the head of each program including CEDEC chief Dr. Cesar Lopez, Purok Power Movement head Liza Quirog and Mita Tecson who oversees the community-based drug rehabilitation program.
Sueno arrived in Bohol yesterday to be a guest speaker during the provincial congress of the Liga ng mga Barangay Bohol Chapter which will be held from Wednesday until Friday.
Sueno was accompanied by his wife Jocelyn and DILG-7 director Rene Burdeos. (Rey Tutas)
