Oil companies yesterday implemented another round of increase in the price of gasoline by 25 centavos per liter.

In the first seven Tuesdays this year, the oil companies only implemented a rollback once.

The total increase in the price of gasoline since January 3 now reached P1.80 per liter.

The total increase in the price of diesel is now 85 centavos.

A rollback was only implemented on January 17 where the price of gasoline had been reduced by 20 centavos by some companies and 30 centavos by the others.

The price of diesel was also reduced by 35 centavos then, and kerosene by 40 centavos.

Yesterday’s oil price movement excluded diesel and kerosene.

The year started with both the prices of gasoline and diesel increased by 70 centavos per liter and 60 centavos per liter, respectively, on January 3.

In the following weeks, the oil companies implemented alternating prices increases for gasoline and diesel.

The second round of price movement on January 10 involved only an increase in the price of diesel by 10 centavos per liter.

The price increase for gasoline followed on January 24 at 60 centavos per liter.

Then January 31 was the turn for the price of diesel to go up by 25 centavos per liter.

The first round of weekly price movements for February had both the prices of gasoline and diesel going up by 50 centavos per liter and 30 centavos per liter, respectively, on February 7.

Then it was followed on February 14 with only the price of diesel increased by 20 centavos per liter.

The last two weeks of 2016 were also marked with price increases for both gasoline and diesel.

The price of gasoline increased by 50 centavos per liter, while the price of diesel also went up by 25 centavos per liter on December 27.

On December 20, the oil companies also implemented price increases in gasoline by 40 centavos per liter and diesel by 70 centavos per liter.
