A priest assigned in Corella lost P45,000 in cash after allegedly falling prey to a thief who broke into his multicab in Tagbilaran City on Saturday dawn.
Fr. Roy Ream Bonanza, a 33-year-old assistant parish priest living in San Isidro town, told police that his Suzuki multicab was ransacked in Purok 3, Brgy. Tiptip, Tagbilaran City at past 5 a.m.
According to Bonanza, his vehicle was parked at the side of the road while he was attending a birthday party.
The vehicle’s rear window was forcibly opened, he said.
Other than the bundle of cash, the thief also reportedly took the priest’s automated teller machine card, identification cards, his vehicle’s certificate of registration and other personal belongings.
Policemen of the Tagbilaran City Police Station’s theft and robbery section have been tasked to investigate the case. (Allen Doydora)
