Two schools in Sikatuna and Dauis allegedly lost five laptops worth a total of P100,000.
Based on Dauis police investigation, the reported burglary of the Mariveles Elementary School in said town was discovered by Jose Maria Aranzado, a teacher, on Tuesday.
Several areas in the school were reportedly ransacked while three of the institution’s laptops worth a total of P64,000 were reported missing.
Investigators believe that the suspects entered through the school’s roof by breaking into the ceiling.
The Dauis police is still continuing its investigation to identify and locate the suspects.
On Wednesday, the Abucay Norte Elementary School in Sikatuna was also broken into while two of its laptops worth P18,000 each were allegedly stolen.
According to the school’s principal, Rosa Mae Lumantao, things inside her office were scattered and the two devices were already missing when she reported for work at 7 a.m. on the same day.
Based on initial investigation, the laptops may have been taken by a child who was able to fit through the office’s small window.
The suspect could have also used the cover of darkness and heavy rain during the wee hours of Wednesday to sneak into the principal’s office, police said. (Allen Doydora)
