Police Regional Office-7 director Chief Supt. Noli Taliño led today the “Bike for Peace” cycling event in Bohol.
Civilians and cops in their Philippine National Police athletic uniforms joined the event which started at 5 a.m. at Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City.
The cycling event ended at the Panglao Cultural Center in the town of Panglao.
Earlier today at 4:30 p.m., another batch of police cyclists left Jagna and travelled to Quinale Beach in Anda on board their bicycles travelling a total of 36 kilometers.
Both destinations, Panglao and Anda, are among the province’s top tourist attractions known for their white-sand beaches.
The “Bike for Peace” event was intended to show to the country and the rest of the world that Bohol remained peaceful even after the incursion of around 10 Abu Sayyaf bandits into the province last month.
Meanwhile, anti-terrorism and community organization meetings will also be held as part of the program.
Bohol Provincial Police Office chief Sr. Supt. Felipe Natividad will be delivering the event’s welcome address while Anda Mayor Angelina Simacio, Panglao Mayor Nila Montero and Taliño are also set to deliver messages to the participants. (Rey Tutas)
