A six-wheeler truck rammed a patrol vehicle of the Corella Police Station (PS) in Barangay Pandol of said town on Wednesday.
According to SPO1 Agripino Malanog of the Corella PS, no one was injured during the collision between the soft drink delivery truck and police vehicle at 1:30 p.m.
Truck driver Carlo Arevalo told investigators that he was travelling to Balilihan town when another car suddenly swerved towards his direction prompting him to avoid it.
This reportedly caused Avelino to head straight towards the parked police vehicle.
According to Malanog, Arevalo was travelling at high speed resulting in the heavy damages of the rammed patrol vehicle and the contents of the delivery truck.
The truck was reportedly released from police custody as the owner of the truck and the Corella PS arranged a settlement.
Malanog added that complaints from residents had already been raised against delivery truck as it was seen speeding in previous instances. (Allen Doydora)
