The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in collaboration with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE) and Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will be launching the “Kapatid Mentor Me Program” on Wednesday.
DTI Assistant Secretary Blesila Lantayona and Regional Director Asteria Caberte will be leading the event at the Metro Centre Hotel in Tagbilaran City.
The program is part of Project Kapatid, an initiative of the DTI and PCE, which includes business mentoring sessions for proprietors and representatives of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bohol.
It is intended to broaden the business knowledge of entrepreneurs in their respective fields.
BCCI president Al Uy will be delivering the grand launching’s welcome address while representatives from various sectors including the tourism, financial and food industries are also expected to attend.
Governor Edgar Chatto and Boholano Virgilio Espeleta, vice president for business development of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and coordinator of PCE-Visayas will also be addressing the participants.
According to DTI-Bohol officer-in-charge Joe Hibaya, there around 25 mentees who are currently undergoing the mentorship program and will be graduating in July.
The business knowledge which will be imparted to mentees will be help boost growth of their respective businesses, said Hibaya.
Kapatid Mentor Me mentees are taking up 12 modules including business model canvass; product development, assessment and innovation; operations management; supply and value chain; human resource and organization management; entrepreneurial accounting; financial management; taxation and business law.
