Bohol police intelligence officers confiscated shabu with an estimated worth of P2.3 million during a drug buy-bust operation at the Muro Ami Beach Resort in Panglao at 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
The drugs which weighed 200 grams were allegedly seized from Teofilo Bantugan who was staying at the said resort when operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) launched the sting operation.
According to PIB chief Sr. Insp. Jojit Mananquil, the drug buy-bust was prompted by the growing number of reports against Bantugan’s illegal drug activities.
The suspect was allegedly caught in the act of selling shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop during the police anti-narcotics operation.
Bantugan, a resident of Barangay Ubujan, Tagbilaran City, operated around the said village, Mananquil added.
According to authorities, the drug haul which was the largest shabu seizure in a single operation in Panglao this year was contained in three large transparent packs.
A Black Widow 9mm. revolver was also recovered from the possession of the suspect, police said.
Bantugan is detained at Camp Dagohoy pending the filing of drug charges against him. (Weli Maestrado)
