A 55-year-old man was killed after he was allegedly hacked by a male neighbor in Inabanga at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
Authorities identified the victim as Eutiqueo Juston, a resident of Cagawasan, Inabanga.
Based on police investigation, Juston and suspect Zander Biscocho engaged in a heated argument while in a drinking session in the said village.
Following the verbal tussle between both men, Biscocho allegedly grabbed a bolo and hacked Juston.
The victim was unable to dodge and block the attack.
Juston sustained wounds in his forehead and nape prompting respondents to rush him to a nearby hospital but the victim was then referred to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City, according to reports that reached police.
However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Meanwhile, Biscocho remained at large as of this posting.
He reportedly fled to an unknown location while police continued their manhunt operation against the suspect.
According to some residents in the village, Juston had previously shown “unpleasant” behavior prior to the incident.
This may have further aggravated the encounter between the victim and the suspect, they said. (A. Doydora)
