The silver anniversary of the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) was highlighted with emphasis that the 25-year journey could not have been made possible without God’s faithfulness to his people.
The BCBP which continues on its strategic evangelization program targeting on businessmen and professionals was thankful to the Almighty for spreading its wings in reaching out to more people here.
There are now six chapters in the province, four in the city and the rest in Ubay and Talibon with outreaches in Jagna and Tubigon.
Meanwhile, BCBP National Pres, Joey Abellana and BOD Chairman Roy Calleja stressed that leadership formation is one of the top concerns of the community in training Christian leaders to sustain the growth of its membership
The faithfulness of God’s guiding hands on the BCBP was echoed through personal testimonies of seven of its pioneer members during the Grand Anniversary Breakfast fellowship held at the Bohol Tropics Resort yesterday morning. The message during the fellowship was contained in the life sharings of Jojo Maniwan, Albert Sanvictores, Steven Lim, Al Uy, Gerry Egos, Jun Amora and Peter Dejaresco who was the first chapter head when BCBP was formed in Tagbilaran in 1992.
The celebration was given more meaning with the presence of the “missionaries” of BCBP Cebu who planted the seed of the community some 25 years ago. The mission team was led by Sadi Saguisag, then chapter head of Cebu and Ed Lising who was the mission director, together with Tony Araneta, Jeff Villa, Rolly Villa and Tony Tagulao.
A Thanksgiving Mass preceded yesterday’s Breakfast fellowship with Bishop Leonardo Medroso.
As part of the celebration, some 22 tricycle drivers were given the Mr. Honest award for returning items and cash left in their tricycle units.
Other anniversary activities were the bible enthronement of some 180 houses of displaced residents of Malinao Dam in Pilar town , tree planting and outreach in Panglao town.
A healing mass opened to the public was held last Tuesday at the Lourdes Church with the famous healing priest, Fr. Joey Faller of the Kamay ni Hesus.

The weeklong activity was capped with last night’s Grand fellowship at the Bohol Cultural Center,
Soc Fucunan, regional council director and Jojo Maniwan, area management head are leading the servant leaders of the six chapters and two outreaches.
