Provincial ‘high-value target’ yields P260K ‘shabu’

A 22-year-old male alleged drug dealer who is considered a “high-value target” in the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s (BPPO) campaign against narcotics trade was arrested in Tagbilaran City.

Suspect Edden Silawan, a resident of Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran City, was allegedly caught in possession of shabu worth P260,000 and collared through a buy-bust operation on Saturday morning.

In a report, police said that Silawan was placed under surveillance and seen selling illegal drugs along Lower F. Salazar in Barangay Taloto.

The sting operation led by Senior Insp. Erano Regidor and supervised by Tagbilaran police chief Supt. Patricio Degay Jr. was then set in motion.

This led to the arrest of Silawan, police said.

The suspect allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to police poseur-buyer and was caught with more packets of shabu in his possession as police frisked him.

According to police, Silawan’s drug stash which was sealed inside three assorted sizes of packets weighed 17 grams.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Tagbilaran City police awaiting drug charges to be filed against him by authorities. (Weli Maestrado)
