A 57-year-old man who was reportedly suffering from an illness was found dead in a grassy area behind his house in Barangay Aliguay, Maribojoc on Tuesday.
PO3 Eugene Morgia identified the victim as Augustin Gualde, a resident of the said village in Maribojoc.
According to Morgia, the victim was missing for four days before his lifeless body was discovered.
Gualde had a fever for three days and was nursing an illness on Friday, based on reports relayed to authorities.
He may have gone outside to defecate as his house did not have a toilet and died there due to his still unknown illness, said residents.
Gualde’s body which was found at 7 a.m. yesterday was already starting to decompose and had been lifeless for four days based on an assessment made by Dr. Rey Perpetuo Beldero, municipal health officer.
There were no indications of foul play in Gualde’s death as there were no marks and wounds inflicted in the victim’s body, said Morgia. (Allen Doydora)
