A 59-year-old man was killed in an alleged suicide inside his home in Barangay Tayong Oriental, Loay on Monday, police said.
Authorities identified the fatality as Romeo Roxas, a native of Misamiz Oriental who relocated to the said village in Loay.
Based on initial police investigation, Roxas, together with his wife, Belien, was cleaning his front yard at around 9 a.m. on the same day of his death.
After a several minutes, however, Belien reportedly noticed that Romeo was no longer outside.
According authorities, Belien found her husband sprawled on the floor inside their living room and drenched in his own blood with a possible self-inflicted wound in his neck.

The victim may have slit his own throat using a kitchen knife causing his instantaneous death, police said.
Belien told police that her husband suffered from occasional ‘kabuhi’ (heartburn), which she said may have led to his alleged suicide.

Romeo was declared dead on the spot.
Meanwhile, police will still be conducting a follow-up probe on the incident. (AD)
