A 57-year-old man was killed after he was accidentally hit by a motorcycle in Tagbilaran City on Thursday, police said.
The victim remained unidentified by authorities until early Saturday when the Chronicle found out that the victim was one Edwin Ayuban, a resident of Barangay Mansasa in Tagbilaran.
Meanwhile, police identified the motorcycle driver as Eulogio Macarayo, 32, of Barangay Tabajan in Guindulman.
Macarayo admitted to police that while driving his motorcycle, he did notice the victim who was walking along the side of Venancio Inting Avenue in Mansasa.
This caused Macarayo to accidentally ram the pedestrian with his motorcycle.
Ayuban was still rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) by the City Medic Team but was declared dead on arrival.
Macarayo who was reportedly accosted by witnesses of the accident was taken into police custody.
