A total of P1.8 billion which is almost twice as much as the budget for 2017 has been earmarked for the various projects in Bohol’s first district this year, said Rep. Rene Relampagos.
According to Relampagos, the fund will mostly be funneled to infrastructure projects such road widening and concreting initiatives and the continued rehabilitation of quake-hit bridges.
The budget allocated for the district was almost 80 percent higher than the amount for 2017 which was at around P1 billion, Relampagos said.
The congressman estimated the total allocation for Bohol’s three legislative districts at P4 billion for 2018.
Relampagos pinpointed the future concreting of major thoroughfares including the national road of JA Clarin from Tagbilaran City to Corella as among top infrastructure goals in the district.
However, he noted that the project has not yet been included for this year’s budget.
Other than for infrastructure, the district’s budget will also be concentrated on funding agriculture projects, Relampagos added. (A. Doydora)
