An undetermined number of suspects broke into a house in Tagbilaran City and carted away P3 million worth of gadgets and jewelry including a diamond-studded gold ring worth P2.5 million on Tuesday morning.
The valuables owned by Julietta Dela Torre were stolen from her house in Barangay Dao between 9 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., as reported by the victim’s sister, Nerissa Dela Torre, to police.
According to Nerissa, they left the house unattended for around 4 hours.
They noticed that the sliding window at the side of their house was forcibly opened upon their arrival at around 1 p.m.
Nerissa told police that the burglars stole two diamond-studded gold rings worth a total of P2.75 million.
Also believed to have been stolen were a laptop worth P70,000; Apple Ipad, P40,000; Cartier sunglasses, P110,000; RADO watch, P70,000 and Rayban sunglasses, P9,000.
The Tagbilaran City Police Station has tasked its theft and robbery section to conduct follow-up investigations on the burglary incident.
Meanwhile, the Dela Torres called for hastened action on the case given the amount of the allegedly stolen items. (Shaznay Galan, HNU MassComm intern)
