Over P2.3 million worth of shabu were seized by the police in various anti-illegal drug operations conducted throughout the province in the past five months.
The drugs were confiscated from 72 people during a 143-day span from January to May 23, based on data released by the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
According to BPPO director Sr. Supt. Angeles Geñorga, 101 cases have been filed in court against suspects arrested in 56 anti-drug operations.
Amount of drugs seized in January was at P129,800, P1,391,456 in February, P178,062 in March, P457,486 in April, and P240,602 in the first 23 days of May.
Meanwhile, 33 people were arrested during the same duration for illegal possession of firearms. All of them have been charged with violation of Republic Act 10591.
A total of 42 various types of firearms were confiscated from the arrested suspects. Meanwhile, 60 firearms were voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
For wanted persons, 132 were taken into custody, 106 were collared through arrest warrants while 26 voluntarily surrendered, according to the BPPO data. (RT)
