A 20-year-old alleged drug dealer was arrested by police in an anti-drug operation in Antequera on Thursday night.
According to Antequera police chief Rolando Amor, authorities had already told suspect John Paul Rebayla to end his involvement in narcotics trade but he still continued to peddle drugs.
Rebayla is a resident of Barangay Bantolinao, the only village in Antequera which remained to be drug affected, said Amor.
Authorities allegedly spotted the suspect selling illegal drugs in Barangay Poblacion at around 7:50 p.m. prompting police to set up a buy-bust operation against him.
In a report, police said that Rebayla sold shabu worth P500 to poseur-buyer resulting in his immediate arrest.
Four more packets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were found in Rebayla’s possession.
He is now detained at the Antequera police lock-up jail pending the filing of drug charges against him. (wm)
