A man deemed a high-value target in the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s (BPPO) anti-drug campaign was arrested in a sting operation in Tagbilaran City on Friday afternoon.
According to Sr. Insp. Romar Labasbas of the BPPO Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB), the nabbed suspect distributed illegal drugs in Panglao and Dauis and mainly had tourists as buyers.
Labasbas identified the alleged drug dealer as James Francisco, 32, a resident of Barangay Cogon in Tagbilaran City.
In a report, police said that Francisco was arrested by PIB operatives after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover police officer during a buy-bust operation inside an abandoned house in Barangay Dampas.
The arresting officers then allegedly found 10 more packets of suspected shabu in Francisco’s possession upon his arrest.
Authorities said that the seized drugs were estimated to be worth P34,500.
Francsico is now under the custody of the BPPO and is detained at Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City pending the filing of drug charges against him. (W. Maestrado)
