An 18-year-old suspected drug dealer was arrested by police after allegedly selling shabu to an undercover cop in Tagbilaran City on Friday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Jerome Cabel, a resident of Barangay Poblacion 3 in Tagbilaran.
According to Tagbilaran City police chief Supt. Patricio Degay, Jr., Cabel did not surrender under “Oplan Tokhang” as he was only recently identified by authorities as a drug personality.
Police placed Cabel under surveillance and allegedly spotted him as he was selling illegal drugs near his residence along Miguel Parras Extension in Barangay Poblacion 3.
Police then set up a buy-bust operation against Cabel who allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a poseur-buyer.
Cabel was initially able to evade arrest but was eventually cornered and arrested by responding police officers stationed around the operation area.
Authorities said that they found two packets of suspected shabu in Cabel’s possession.
The seized drugs were estimated to be worth P20,000.
Cabel has been detained at the Tagbilaran police lock-up jail pending the filing of illegal drug charges against him. (WM)
