Drug haul from separate anti-drug operations in nine months already reached P14 million.
PNP Prov’l Director Angeles Geñorga confirmed that the accumulated drug haul totalled to 1 kilo and 192.27 grams of shabu worth P14,066,662 from the anti-drug operations from January to September this year.
PSupt. Lorenzo Batuan of the Operations Branch of BPPO reported this during the joint meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) on September 27.
From January to September, there had been 239 persons arrested during the 195 anti-illegal drugs operations in different parts of Bohol, and 348 drug cases filed in court.
For the month of August, the police arrested 77 persons during the One Time- Big Time operations where the police confiscated a total of P2.419 million worth of shabu.
For the period September 1-26, the police had arrested 33 persons and confiscated P1.903 million worth of shabu.
PDEA-Bohol also reported that on September 17, their team conducted a joint operation with PIB-SOG/PDEU, PNP DEG-SOU5, RSOG-7 Bohol Island Team and Tagbilaran Police Station which resulted to the arrest of one Geoffrey Silao, a 33-year-old resident of Cogon District who yielded packs of shabu with estimated weight of 117 grams.
On September 12, the Bohol District Jail personnel conducted the OplanLinisPiitan (Greyhound Operation) at the Bohol District Jail in Cabawan District, Tagbilaran City.
During the said greyhound operation, an inmate was caught in possession of nine small heat-sealed plastic sachets of shabu.
The record of shabu haul in July remains the highest where the BPPO confiscated a total of 485.34 grams of shabu worth P5.725 million from 28 operations conducted in the month of July where 35 persons were arrested and led to the filing of 51 cases in court.
The next biggest haul was in June where the BPPO confiscated a total of 137.46 grams of shabu worth P1.66 million from 26 operations that resulted to the arrest of 28 persons and filing of 41 drug cases in court.
In January, the BPPO conducted four operations, resulting to the arrest of four persons where a total of 11 grams of shabu worth P129,800 were confiscated and six cases filed in court.
In February, the drug haul reached 117.92 grams of shabu worth P1,391,456 as a result of 19 operations where 27 persons were arrested, leading to the filing of 34 cases in court.
In March, seven operations had been conducted, resulting to the arrest of 11 persons, confiscation of a total of 15.09 grams of shabu worth P178,062 and filing of 13 cases in court.
In April, the BPPO had conducted 17 operations which resulted to the arrest of 19 persons, confiscation of 38.77 grams of shabu worth P457,486 and filing of 32 cases.
In May, the BPPO conducted nine operations which resulted to the arrest of 11 persons, confiscation of 20.39 grams of shabu worth P240,602 and filing of 16 cases.
The drug haul recorded in July shot up after the July 4 operation where a drug personality yielded P4.7-million worth of shabu.
In such single operation, a composite police team recovered the packs of shabu placed inside a big brown envelope from a certain Ericson Quitalag, a native of Pampanga, during a buy-bust operation at a corner of the Integrated Bus Terminal in Dampas District, Tagbilaran City.
