An unclothed newborn baby was found at a grassy portion of a residential area in Barangay Mariveles, Dauis on Wednesday afternoon.
Angelie Humol, a resident of the said village, discovered the male baby at around 4 p.m. as she was getting washed clothes hanged outside her home.
Humol took the baby inside her house and later called the authorities including the village’s barangay captain who in turn alerted personnel from the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital.
“Gikulbaan ko nga murag nahadlok unya way mogawas sa akong tingog. Misuway gani kog singgit sa mga silingan para mangayog tabang, wala man koy tingog mogawas,” Humol said.
The baby who was taken to the GCGMH where health authorities continued to monitor his condition remained in safe and stable condition.
Humol and her neighbors were clueless on who left the baby in their neighbourhood.
Police, meanwhile, launched an investigation to identify and locate the baby’s parents. (A. Doydora)
