The estranged wife of a German hotelier was arrested by police at the Tagbilaran City Airport for alleged illegal gun possession on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Sr. Insp. Geronimo Conarco, chief of the Panglao police which led the arrest, Herculada Schoof, wife of The Peacock Garden owner Hans Schoof, was about to depart for Manila when she was apprehended.
Operatives arrested Herculada by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by the 13th Municipal Circuit Trial Court (Loay-Albur-Baclayon) for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act.
The case reportedly stemmed from an earlier complaint against Herculada who allegedly tried to confront Hans while carrying an unlicensed firearm.
Herculada was previously convicted of alarm and scandal for a similar incident. (wm)
