A 52-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle was accidentally rammed by a Southern Star bus in Dimiao on Saturday afternoon.

According to PO3 Rex Gundaya of the Dimiao police, the fatality, identified as Fabian Dalapo of Barangay Canmanico, Valencia died on the spot due to severe injuries to his head.

Dalapo reportedly came from the fiesta revelries in Lila town when the Southern Star bus tried to overtake his motorcycle but accidentally hit him from the side while both vehicles were in Barangay Luyo, Dimiao.

Dalapo crashed and his head was then run over by the bus which was driven by one Welbert Bosala, 44, of Ubay.

Witnesses told the police that there was very limited space between the two vehicles when the bus tried to overtake.

Gundayo said that Dalapo was wearing a helmet during the accident.

Bosala meanwhile remained under Dimiao police custody pending the filing of charges against him. (A. Doydora)
