A man previously convicted of a drug charge who has been out from prison for less than two weeks and an employee of a courier company were allegedly caught in possession of shabu worth P408,000 during a drug buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran City.
Operatives of the Bohol police Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) apprehended Ronnie Daguplo, the operation’s target, and Christopher Torreon, 30, after they sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop on Thursday night in Barangay Cogon, police said.
Daguplo allegedly arranged the transaction while Torreon handed over the illegal drugs to the poseur-buyer.
According to authorities, Torreon who was incarcerated after being found guilty of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act was released on October 12 through a plea bargaining agreement.
Police allegedly found 34.63 grams of shabu in both suspects’ possession.
Both men are now detained at the Bohol Provincial Police Office headquarters in Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City and will be charged with sale and possession of illegal drugs. (wm)
