A Tagbilaran-based lawyer fell prey to a burglar who broke into her house and carted away cash, gadgets and jewelry.
Attorney Joyce Artiaga, a resident of Barangay Dao in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday told police that the burglar forcibly entered her house through a window.
According to Artiaga, she lost P4,700 cash, a gold necklace with pendant worth P15,000, a Samsung Tablet worth P12,000 and a Samsung mobile phone worth P9,000.
Artiaga had just arrived from work when she noticed that one of her house’s windows and the door to her room were forcibly opened.
The house, particularly Artiaga’s bedroom, was noticeably ransacked.
Artiaga said that she suspected that the burglar may be a resident of nearby village, Cogon.
However, authorities have yet to verify Artiaga’s suspicion on the suspect’s residence.
Operatives of the Tagbilaran police theft and robbery section meanwhile have been deployed to conduct a deeper probe on the case. (wm)
