A security guard for a public beach in the resort town of Panglao was arrested for alleged sale of illegal drugs on Wednesday.

The suspect, identified as Marlon Simbajon, 28, of Barangay Sagnap in Loay, allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover police officer.

Police said that the operation led by Sr. Insp. Francis Neon Alvarez was set up after Simbajon was spotted selling illegal drugs at a public beach in Purok 2 in Barangay Libaong, Panglao.

The arresting officers also allegedly seized shabu worth P3,400 from Simbajon during his arrest.

Simbajon is now under the custody of the Panglao Police Station.

He is set to be charged with violations against Section 5 and Section 11 Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.(wm)
