A lifeless woman was found floating in waters off a resort in Panglao at dawn on Wednesday.
The body was discovered by an employee of a resort in Barangay Tangnan who immediately reported the sighting to a barangay official at 5 a.m., said SPO1 Manuel Rabanal of the Panglao Police Station.
According to Rabanal, they have yet to identify the body which authorities believed to have been floating in water for at least three days.
There were no wounds in the woman’s body or any indication of foul play behind her death.
However, authorities have not yet determined the cause of death.
Rabanal said that they were also unable to identify the possible age of the woman as her face could no longer be recognized.
The woman was estimated to be five feet and three inches tall and was wearing a brown shirt and brown leggings of a darker shade.
The Municipal Health Office (MHO) of Panglao meanwhile has recommended for the body to be buried as it has already started to decompose.
Family of the woman or those who can help to identify the deceased are advised to coordinate with the MHO or the Panglao police. (A. Doydora)
