A 65-year-old widow was stabbed to death inside her home in Pilar town in a suspected robbery-slay case on Sunday night.
The fatality identified as Generosa Duyogan who was alone inside her home in Brgy. Aurora died on the spot following the stabbing incident at past 10 p.m., said SPO1 Gerry Bernaldez, Pilar police investigator.
Duyogan’s neck was slashed by the suspect causing her instantaneous death.
“Mura’g gidunggab ang liog murag gi-golgol unya hapit na maputol tong vital parts niya,” said Bernaldez.
She was found sprawled on the floor by barangay officials, Councilor Maximo Dano and Barangay Captain Emelda Butanilan, who in turn alerted the police.
“Kaning iyang silingan nakadunggog kuno og singgit gikan sa balay sa biktima nga mura gisakitan mao to nga tungod sa kahadlok wa sila dayon mo adto sa balay nga medyo ngitngit man pod mao midrtso sila sa balay sa kagawad, unya ang kagawad mi adto pod sa balay sa ilang kapitan ug pagbalik nag uban na sila nga miadto sa balay sa biktima,” said Bernaldez.
Meanwhile, a person of interest was invited to the Pilar Police Station for possible involvement in the crime but was later released as investigators continued to gather evidence.
The person of interest was not identified but was placed under tight monitoring by the police to prevent him from fleeing, said Bernaldez.
Authorities noted that Duyogan’s belongings including her cellphone and cash earnings from her sari-sari store were missing. (Allen Doydora)
