An alleged big-time methamphetamine dealer deemed a high value drug target at the regional level allegedly yielded shabu worth P340,000 during a police anti-drug operation in Tubigon.
Police operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) 7 arrested Jeopard Banquil, 26, of Cahayag Tubigon after he was allegedly caught red-handed selling shabu to a poseur-buyer during the operation on Wednedsay afternoon.
Banquil sold shabu worth P20,000 to an undercover cop and agreed to sell 50 grams more of shabu after the initial transaction, raising suspicion that he was big-time player in the drug trade, said Sr. Insp. Jojit Mananquil of RSOG 7 and the Regional Intelligence Division 7.
According to Mananquil, Banquil operated in various towns including Tubigon and in Tagbilaran City.
Banquil claimed that he sourced his shabu supply from an unidentified person who he regularly met at Barangay Cawayanan in Tubigon.
This however was denied by Mananquil as he noted that Banquil sourced his supply from Cebu.
Banquil is now under police custody as the RSOG 7 is preparing to file illegal drug charges against him. (W. Maestrado)
