A man who tried to smuggle shabu into the Tagbilaran City Jail (TCJ) by concealing the contraband in his rectum was caught by a jail guard on Saturday.

Delbert Suganob, 38, tried to sneak in 3.5 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P23,800 into the detention facility, said Staff Sergeant Neil Bibat of the Tagbilaran City police.

Sugan, who placed the contraband inside a condom and into his anus, listed himself as visitor of one Benjamin Alturas.

Alturas is being held at the TCJ for drug charges.

According to Bibat, Jail Officer 1 Joseph Inting felt the tip of the condom protruding from Suganob’s anus while frisking him.

Inting pulled out the condom and allegedly saw the medium-sized sachet containing suspected shabu.

Sugan remained under police custody pending the filing of an illegal drug possession charge against him. (WM)
