A Pasig City-based shipping firm has inaugurated two catamarans which will ply the Tagbilaran City-Cebu City route daily.
Vicente Cordero Jr., Shogun Ships Co., Inc, chairman and CEO, together with officials from the Ports Management Office of Bohol led the inauguration at the Tagbilaran City Tourist Port on Wednesday afternoon.
Shogun Ships, through subsidiary Island Water Transport, started to offer four round trips between the two destinations using two brand new vessels, the Island Biri and Island Calayan.
Both vessels were built by Jianglong Shipbuilding in China.
The trip between Tagbilaran City and Cebu City on board either of the vessels takes two hours and 15 minutes.
The catamarans depart from Tagbilaran City for Cebu City at 5:30 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The same schedule is followed for Cebu-Tagbilaran trips.
Prices are at P475 for economy class and P675 for business class.
According to Shogun Ships, their catamarans are replete with a fully-air-conditioned cabin, free internet connection and an entertainment system which offers free movie screening. (r)
