A 69-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle was killed following a three-way vehicle collision in Batuan on Wednesday afternoon.
The fatality, identified as Godofredo Luengas, of Barangay Yanaya Bilar died on the spot, following the incident in Barangay Poblacion Sur, Batuan, said Batuan police chief Master Sgt. Alfredo Sotto.
Luengas was trying to overtake a Chevrolet sports utility vehicle when an incoming multicab at the opposite lane was fast approaching.
“Misuway ni og maniobra ang multicab aron likayan unta ang motor pero nibangga gihapon nis kilid ang motor mao tong nilagpot unya na igo napod aning kilid sa bumber sa SUV,” said Sotto.
Luengas who was not wearing a helmet incurred severe injuries in various parts of his body and head.
Sotto said that the victim was not in possession of a vehicle registration for his motorcycle.
Meanwhile, the driver of the multicab, Biloy Jimenez, and driver of the SUV, Gaudioso Duan, did not sustain any injury. (A. Doydora)
