A house in Alburquerque town was razed by a fire which broke out on Tuesday afternoon.
No one was injured due to the fire but the blaze left P70,000 worth of damage to the home of Jennifer Macalolot in Barangay San Agustin, said Fire Officer 2 Ronald Rebuyon of the Alburquerque Fire Station.
Fire investigators believed that the fire was caused by an unattended mosquito coil which was left inside a room where Macalolot’s four-year-old daughter was sleeping.
Macalolot who was washing clothes was later alerted by neighbors as smoke wafted from inside her house. She then grabbed her daughter as they escaped from the flames which started to engulf their house.
Based on the Alburquerque Fire Station’s record, they were alerted of the fire at 4:37 p.m. and the blaze was declared under control at 4:47 p.m.
According to Rebuyon, the Macalolots have temporarily relocated to their relative’s home in the same village.
Investigators meanwhile continued their probe on the incident. (A. Doydora)
