A casual employee of the local government unit of Loay was killed after he figured in a motorcycle accident along a national highway in Lila town.

Danilo Pico of Barangay Tayong in Loay was still rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival due to injuries sustained, said Master Sgt. Steven Mayuman.

According to Mayuman, Pico was on his way to Candijay when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle as he was about to overtake another motorcycle in Barangay Nagsulay, Lila on Tuesday night.

“Kaning iyang gisundan nga motor mi-signal na daan paingon mo left turn pero sa pagkakita nga kusog dagan sa biktima, nihunong ning isa unya paglabay sa iyang tungod pag-abot unahan kalit nalang kuno nagligidligid,” said Mayuman.

No one else was injured during the accident as Mayuman noted that there were no vehicles at the opposite lane during the accident.

Meanwhile, an acquaintance of the Pico told authorities that the victim was under the influence of alcohol.

Mayuman said that the high speed of the motorcycle caused a greater impact when Pico was thrown away from his motorcycle, while his helmet was severely damaged due to the accideint. (A. Doydora)
