The son of a high-ranking Tagbilaran City Hall official was arrested by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in an anti-drug operation at a hotel in the city on Saturday night.
The suspect, identified as Eric John Borja, 26, was arrested after allegedly selling illegal drugs to an undercover agent during buy-bust operation at a hotel located along Gallares Street in Tagbilaran City.
In a report, the PDEA said that Borja was caught in possession of seven tablets of suspected ecstasy during the sting operation conducted at around 9 p.m.
The seized drugs were estimated to have a street market value of P11,900, the PDEA said.
Borja is the son of Tagbilaran City Administrator Leonides Borja.
He remained under the custody of the arresting authorities pending the filing of charges against him for violating Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
