A 33-year-old man was shot dead by two still unidentified gunmen outside his home in Dagohoy town on Monday night.
The fatality, identified as Rowel Busalanan, a habal-habal driver and a farmer in Barangay Can-oling in Dagohoy, was gunned down while he was on his way home from his neighbor’s house where he watched television, said Master Sgt. Fernando Granada of the Dagohoy Police Station.
Busalanan had just entered his house’s gate at past 7 p.m. when he was repeatedly shot. He was still able to run and reach the front door but the gunmen chased him down and continued shooting.
According to Granada, the victim who sustained seven gunshot wounds all over his body died on the spot.
The assailants meanwhile immediately left the scene on board a motorcycle following the fatal shooting.
Police are continuing their investigation on the case.
Granada said that they are already following up on a lead on the possible suspects. He however did not divulge further information so as not to jeopardize their ongoing investigation.
Busalanan had no prior record in their barangay and the municipal police, he added. (A. Doydora)
