Seven alleged drug personalities were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in Lila, Loboc, Loay and Dauis on Wednesday, police said.
Authorities identified the suspects as Richard “Mayor” Bantugan, 29, of Loay, Sherwin Salot, 43, of Loay; Jeric Cahayag, 24, of Lila; Mark Estares, 25, of Dauis; Jessie Lumaad, 35, of Tagbilaran City; Mark Leo Isi-os, 23, of Loboc and Pablito Hapson, 43, of Loboc.
According to police reports, all seven men were arrested through drug buy-bust operations.
At least six grams of suspected shabu were confiscated from the suspects. The seized drugs were estimated to be worth P47,600 based on the value set by the Dangerous Drugs Board.
Operatives of the Bohol police Provincial Intelligence Branch arrested Estares and his alleged drug buyer, Lumaad, in Dauis during the fiesta celebration of the town.
Police reports indicated that Isi-os and Hapson were collared in separate anti-drug operations in Loboc while Cahayag was arrested in Lila.
Bantugan and his alleged buyer, Salot, meanwhile were nabbed in Loay.
Estares and Lumaad are now detained at the Bohol Provincial Police Office headquarters in Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City while the rest of the arrested men are under the custody of the respective municipal police stations in the towns where they were arrested.
They are set to be charged with violations against Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (wm)
