Loay Councilor Jescelo “Ondoy” Adiong, identified with Gov, Art Yap’s Padayon Bol-anon was elected as president of the Philippine Councilors’ League (PCL-Bohol) during a hotly contested one-on-one election held Friday at the Bohol Tropics Resort.
He defeated Baclayon Councilor Jodel Cabahug by a margin of 17 votes from among 465 voting delegates. Cabahog was supported by leaders identified with defeated gubernatorial bet Leoncio Evasco, Jr..
Adiong who is the brother-in-law of Vice Gov. Rene Relampagos pooled 241 votes against Cabahog’s 224 votes.
While Adiong got the support of the administration bloc, Cabahog got his support from Rep. Aris Aumentado and Rep, Alexi Tutor.
Of the 482 councilors from the 47 towns and one city, 466 cast their votes during last Friday’s election
City councilor Jonas Cacho was elected as vice-president (229 votes) versus Danao’s councilor Celeste
Cepedoza Lerion (211 votes); Vice-President Internal – Dauis’ Vieto Racho (234 votes) against Ubay’s Eutiquio del
Valle, (129); V-President External – Loay’s Tiburcio Bullecer, Jr. (226) against Sikatuna’s Constancio Rule (122);
V-president for 1st district – Sikatuna’s Atty, Danilo Palgan (74) against Tagbilaran ‘s Atty. Nerio Zamora (62); V-president 2nd Dist – Charito Lao (52) and Segundo Dungog (45); and V-president 3rd Dist – Alicia’s Denifel Corre (69) versus Garcia-Hernandez Pio Salmasan (58).
New Secretary-general is Jagna’s Maricris Jamora (231 votes) against Maribojoc’s Arnie Turco (143); Assistant sec-Gen – Zeniza Bulalaque (176) against Leonardo Querubin (151); Treasurer – Balilihan’s Abel Llorente (204) against Candijay’s Ameilito Olandria (197); Assitant Treasurer – Paulino Tejano (197) against Baclayon’s Eric Canete (106); Auditor – Corella’s Danilo Bandala (190) against Neil Eric Ochoco (170).
Business manager – Aolinario Artiaga (177 votes) against Lovely Louise Solon (149); Assistant Bus. Manager – Darwin Cuajao (166) against Allan Jandayan (140); Public Relations Officer Mabini’s Onjie Bernales Lim (170) against Almar Jandayan (158); PRO 1st Dist – Ritchel Lim (63) against Gerardo Regalado (56); PRO 2nd Dist – Gerry Garay (54) aginst Epifanio Alisaca (50); and PRO 3rd Dist – Rolond Pacatang (63) against Gaudencio Galleros (40).
Eight councilors elected to compose the Board of Directors: They are Angilita Toribio Abundo got 262 votes, the highest; Jessie Paluga (207); Jay Unajan (201); Luisito Digal (195); Cecelia Salomon (192); Panglao’s Atty. Dennis Hora (184); Remegio Dinorog (174) and Atty. Michael Doria (163).
Others who did not make it to BOD: Gaudencio Atuel (124 votes); Claudio Brunidor (104); Lynbell Café (145);Clemen Jala (124); Lanibel Labado (128); Calape’s Teodoro Ruizol (134); Elias Jipos (149) and Frederick Amarille (139).
