Various police units in Bohol arrested 45 drug-linked individuals and seized shabu worth P830,416 during a five-day SEMPO (Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations) which ended at midnight on Friday last week.

 The Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) reported that they confiscated 122.12 grams of suspected shabu during the series of anti-drug operations held from September 16 to 20.

 The drugs were seized in 33 buy-bust operations and two drug raids.

 It was the third SEMPO carried out by the BPPO under the leadership of Colonel Jonathan Cabal who took over as provincial police director on August 1.

Since Cabal was installed, the number of anti-illegal drug operations in Bohol has more than tripled compared to the average number of operations conducted in the previous seven months of 2019.

 BPPO data indicated that 100 anti-illegal drug operations were carried out by the various police units in the province for the month of August while police conducted 33 operations in January, 40 in February, 50 in March, 33 in April, 14 in May, 30 in June and 22 in July, averaging 31.7 operations each month for the first seven months of the year.

 Previously, Cabal said that he was only implementing the orders of President Rodrigo Duterte, Governor Arthur Yap and the national police command to boost efforts in going after illegal drug activities.

 He also expressed confidence that the continued arrest of drug personalities, including those tagged as street-level pushers, would eventually lead to the identification of suspects in the higher levels of the drug supply chain.

 “Mas makukuha natin yang mga bigger targets ‘pag nakukuha yang mga maliliit kasi yun ang source, dun sila kumukuha. We build up on those accomplishments, parang ladder type di natin makukuha yung sa taas agad,” said Cabal in an earlier interview. (RT)
